Veteran Application

Please submit your details below.

Note: Guardians must be at least 18 years old and younger than 70. Spouses of our veterans cannot go on a trip as guardians because of their potential medical issues. Guardians must be at least one generation younger than the veteran they will accompany on a mission.

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR PEOPLE APPLYING TO BE A GUARDIAN
Most veterans will fly with a guardian who is a family member or close personal friend. Our waiting list for people who want to be a solo guardian (someone who wants to be a guardian but does not have a veteran to fly with) on an Honor Flight is now more than 200. Please DO NOT apply to be a guardian if you do not already have a specific veteran you wish to fly with. We are no longer accepting applications for solo guardians. Although we appreciate your interest in being part of Honor Flight, we will not be able to accommodate your request. Thanks for your understanding.

Terms and Agreement

  1. As photographic and video equipment are frequently used to memorialize and document Honor Flight trips and events, images of veterans may appear in a public forum, such as the media or on a website, to acknowledge, promote or advance the work of Honor Flight.

I hereby release the photographer and Honor Flight from all claims and liability relating to said photographs. I hereby give permission for my images captured during Honor Flight activities through video, photo, or other media, to be used solely for the purposes of Honor Flight promotions and publications, and waive any rights of compensation or ownership thereto.

  2. I further acknowledge that medical insurance is the responsibility of the veteran and I understand that Honor Flight does NOT provide medical care. I understand that I accept all risks associated with travel and other Honor Flight activities and will not hold Honor Flight responsible for any injuries I may incur while participating in the Honor Flight program.

Honor Flight would not be successful without the generous support of our guardians. Guardians play a significant role on every trip, ensuring that every veteran has a safe and memorable experience. Guardians MUST be 2nd Generation or younger and able-bodied. Same generation spouses may NOT serve as Guardians. The primary responsibility of a Guardian is the physical safety and security of one or more Veterans - helping up and down steps, off buses, wheeling Veterans up and down ramps, and physically handling equipment and baggage. This is a physical, working trip for Guardians. Mature teens, adults and 'sturdy' retirees are welcomed to serve as guardians. Guardian applications must be submitted at least 8 weeks prior to flight and should be submitted at the same time Veterans apply to go. Guardians are also responsible for a significant contribution to expenses (airline fare, etc.).

Guardians are also asked to contribute $300 toward their own expense, but that does not come due until flight time. We underwrite the $200 difference in appreciation of your working service throughout the flight.

Thank you for your generous support.
