Honor Flight Rochester, Inc. is an all-volunteer organization. Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Helping with Mission Departures or Welcome Home ceremonies
  • Serving as a photographer for Departure, Welcome Home, or events
  • Working at special events (e.g., our booth at an air show, a golf tournament fundraiser, etc.)
  • Serving on our Health and Safety Team (healthcare qualifications are required)
  • Assisting with our Veteran Letters program
  • Assembling backpacks for veterans
  • Working on clerical tasks that can be done from home
  • Speaking to outside groups as part of our Speakers’ Bureau (you must have flown as a guardian or other volunteer)

Unfortunately veterans cannot choose what flight they will travel on due to medical and logistic issues associated with the flight process. We also encourage veterans from the Syracuse and Buffalo area's to visit and register with their local Honor Flight hubs before registering with Rochester Honor Flight.
