HFR Welcomes Home Mission 69 Veterans

On Sunday, October 20th Honor Flight Rochester (HFR) welcomes home Mission 69 at the Greater Rochester International Airport.

There are 61 Veterans slated to fly on Mission 69. They include 5 World War II veteran, 7 Korean War veterans, 21 Cold War veterans and 28 Vietnam War veterans. They served in the U.S. Army (24), U.S. Navy (11), U.S. Air Force (17), and U.S. Marine Corps (9).

“Honor Flight Rochester is an eight hundred person all-volunteer organization. We truly take special care of each veteran because each trip is a ‘mission’ to HFR. And each of our missions sets the bar higher for being the best ever. We fly six times per year, three two-day overnights in the spring and three in the fall”, said HFR President & CEO, Rich Stewart.

This is the sixth and final mission for 2019. Not including Mission 69, HFR has escorted 3,318 men and women veterans on 68 Missions, all funded through the generous of donations from our community including individuals, organizations, corporations and hundreds of volunteers.
