HFR Welcomes Home Mission 67 Veterans

 

On Sunday, September 8th Honor Flight Rochester (HFR) welcomes home Mission 67 at the Greater Rochester International Airport.

There are 55 Veterans slated to fly on Mission 67. They include 2 World War II veteran, 18 Korean War veterans, 33 Cold War veterans and 2 Vietnam War veterans. They served in the in U.S. Army (27), U.S. Navy (10), U.S Air Force (9) and U.S. Marine Corps (9).

On behalf of our more than 850 passionate volunteers, it is truly an honor to be a part of this wonderful endeavor! More than 250 volunteers are involved with planning and executing each mission. We take great pride in delivering the trip of a lifetime to our honored veterans! Please join us on Sunday September 8th as we Welcome Home Mission 67” said HFR Vice President of Volunteer Resources, Greg Foust.

This is the fourth of six missions for 2019. Not including Mission 67, HFR has escorted 3,207 men and women veterans on 66 Missions, all funded through the generous of donations from our community including individuals, organizations, corporations and hundreds of volunteers.

Unfortunately veterans cannot choose what flight they will travel on due to medical and logistic issues associated with the flight process. We also encourage veterans from the Syracuse and Buffalo area's to visit and register with their local Honor Flight hubs before registering with Rochester Honor Flight.
