Honor Flight Rochester Welcomes Home Mission 41 on Sunday May 31
Honor Flight Rochester welcomes home 54 veterans when Mission 41 arrives at the Greater Rochester International Airport Sunday, May 31. This is the second of six missions for Honor Flight Rochester’s 2015 season.
We anticipate the veterans to start coming through to the crowd for the public welcome celebration between 11:30 – 11:45 a.m.
PRIVATE RECEPTION: A private welcome home reception for veterans and their families follows immediately. Please note this new policy: During the private ceremony we ask that the media not go into the International Room.We have been asked to start and finish the private welcome home ceremony on time. You may interview veterans after the private ceremony.
There are 54 (53 men and one woman) veterans slated to fly on Mission 41. There are 15 World War II veterans and 39 Korean War (1950-53) veterans. The veterans served in the:
- U.S. Army (25)
- U.S. Navy (15)
- U.S. Marine Corps (4)
- U.S. Marine Corps Aviation (1)
- U.S. Coast Guard (1)
- U.S. Army Air Corps/Forces (1) and
- U.S. Air Force (7).
DEPARTURE: Saturday, May 30, 2015 – Honor Flight Rochester Mission 41 departs the Greater Rochester International Airport at 6:30 a.m. The veterans and their guardians begin arriving at 4 a.m.
PUBLIC WELCOME CELEBRATION: Approximately 11:30 – 11:45 a.m.
