Mission 39 Information


Departure: Saturday, October 18, 2014 – Honor Flight Rochester Mission 39 departs the Greater Rochester International Airport at 6:30 a.m. The veterans and their guardians begin arriving at 4 a.m.

It will take approximately 20 minutes to help the veterans disembark from the jet.

There are 45 veterans scheduled to fly on Mission 39. They include 43 men and two women veterans. There are 18 World War II veterans and 26 Korean War veterans. One veteran served in both WWII and the Korean War while two others saw service in both the Army and the Navy. The veterans served in the U.S. Navy (9), the U.S. Army (26), the U.S. Army Air Corps (1), U.S. Air Force (5) and the U.S. Marine Corps (2).

To date, Honor Flight Rochester has flown 1762 total WWII, Korean and Vietnam Veterans to Washington DC to see their memorials.

Unfortunately veterans cannot choose what flight they will travel on due to medical and logistic issues associated with the flight process. We also encourage veterans from the Syracuse and Buffalo area's to visit and register with their local Honor Flight hubs before registering with Rochester Honor Flight.
