Spontaneous Tribute to WWII Veteran Goes Viral

The San Jose, Calif., runners participating in an annual race to benefit military veterans were already giving back to the community — but then they did something even more remarkable: they paused in the middle of their event to shake a WWII veteran’s hand.

One by one, the runners stopped to thank Joe Bell, 95, who stood at the sidelines, cheering them on in full uniform. When a local reporter saw what was happening she grabbed her camera and started filming.

Unfortunately veterans cannot choose what flight they will travel on due to medical and logistic issues associated with the flight process. We also encourage veterans from the Syracuse and Buffalo area's to visit and register with their local Honor Flight hubs before registering with Rochester Honor Flight.
